Over the course of a decade, Elle and Zach, the married duo behind Kindred (b. East Coast), have developed a signature style that draws from the storytelling tradition of mid-century photojournalism and the visual punch of hi-flash street photography. 

With formal training in fine art, editorial, and documentary photography, their work carries a foundation that is visible in every image they make. For Elle and Zach, everything they know about the technicalities of film and digital is used as a tool, not as a means to drive the image itself. What they are really after is a photograph that makes someone feel something; where what they know about light, composition, and timing can serve the image without announcing itself. Color is central to their approach, used as a compositional tool to shape rhythm and direct the eye. Working across film and digital, they pay close attention to how both are processed and graded so that every gallery tells a cohesive story from start to finish.
